About Ali

I am passionate about guiding my clients to realise their full movement potential through a unique set of advanced, specialised movement techniques. By integrating a deep understanding of the fascial and nervous systems into our sessions, I help you harness a sense of balance, strength and flexibility.

I am a fully certified Pilates and movement teacher with over 25 years of experience. My training includes work with The Madeline Black Methodâ„¢, both as a student and as a teaching assistant to Madeline Black on her intensive courses. I originally trained in BASI Pilates and have since expanded my practice to include bodywork through the Brain Body Balance Method, Gyrotonicâ„¢ training, and functional movement as an FRC-accredited specialist, alongside my work as a Sound and Reiki therapist.

Pilates

I offer one-to-one Pilates sessions tailored specifically to your needs, whether you're recovering from injury, managing chronic conditions, or simply looking to move with more ease and efficiency. Drawing from both classical and contemporary approaches, we may work on the mat or use a variety of equipment including the Reformer, Cadillac Tower, and Stability Chair in my fully equipped studio.

Each session is designed to improve alignment, build strength and support your body’s natural movement potential, with a deep awareness of the fascial and nervous systems.

Sound Healing

Sound healing offers a deeply restorative experience, where the body and mind are invited into a state of calm and recalibration. Using a blend of Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls alongside Tuning Forks, I create rich vibrational soundscapes that help regulate the nervous system, release tension, and support emotional wellbeing.

These sessions can be experienced in stillness or integrated with gentle, mindful movement to enhance the restorative effects and recalibrate your nervous system for deep connection and healing.

Bodywork

Through gentle, hands-on fascia release techniques, I work with the body’s connective tissue to help release tension, improve mobility and help relive pain. These sessions are designed to directly address muscular imbalances, reduce pain, and restore a sense of fluidity and ease in movement.

By easing fascial restrictions, we support better communication within the body, helping movement feel more natural, efficient and supported.

Postural Assessment & Gait Training

Understanding how your body moves is the first step toward meaningful change. Drawing on a deep knowledge of anatomy and a trained eye for movement, I assess posture, gait, and movement patterns to identify imbalances, compensations, and habitual restrictions.

This session is particularly valuable if you’re experiencing specific issues, such as shoulder or neck pain, and want to understand the underlying cause and how postural changes can support recovery. From there, we develop targeted strategies to improve alignment, coordination, and overall efficiency, creating lasting, functional change.

Gyrotonicâ„¢

The Gyrotonicâ„¢ method is a unique movement system that focuses on creating fluid, spiral patterns of movement through the body. By using circular, flowing movements, we stimulate the nervous system and increase joint mobility, strength, and flexibility. This method encourages the body to move in three-dimensional spirals, unlocking tension and creating more space in the joints, while enhancing overall movement efficiency.

Whether you’re recovering from injury or simply seeking more efficient movement, the Gyrotonic™ method helps your body move in its most natural, dynamic way.

The Full Alignment Session

This comprehensive session offers a fully personalised approach, drawing on both a deep understanding of the body and an intuitive ability to recognise what each client needs, I tailor each session in the moment. Sessions may take place either in the studio, working through movement-based practices such as Pilates, Gyrotonicâ„¢ and postural assessment, or on the treatment table, incorporating bodywork, fascia release, Reiki or Sound healing. Depending on your needs, we may focus on one approach or combine both.

These sessions create space to reconnect, realign, and move forward with a greater sense of balance, support and awareness.
